Synopsis

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Technology Applications Contracting Office (TAKO) has a requirement for the manufacture of the Acoustic Hostile Fire Indicator (A-HFI) system in support of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR(A)). This system shall be used to identify Hostile Fire (HF) threats for small arms fire up to and including rocket propelled grenades (RPG). The A-HFI system must be fully integrateable into existing SOAR(A) aircraft including, but not limited to, the ARSOA AASE suite and CAAS mission computer system. USSOCOM intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price contract to Raytheon-BBN Corporation operating in Cambridge, MA. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR.6.302-1(Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The Government does not possess and cannot furnish the technical data required to develop engineering descriptions, technical data packages, or specifications necessary to permit full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. The estimated date of the solicitation is on or about September 2012. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 334511.
