Synopsis

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to Teledyne RD Instruments, Inc. (Teledyne RDI) of 14020 Stowe Drive, Poway, CA 92064-6846 for one (1) each of the following items: Dopplar Profiler P/N WHS300; Wave Software P/N WHWDS-200; Tracking Mode P/N WHBTKF1; Profiling Mode P/N WHHIRES; Cable P/N WHLCAB25; and Load Cage P/N ILF-HFS-0001-WH. This purchase is unsuitable for full and open competition for the following reasons: Teledyne RDI is the original designer and original equipment manufacturer of the items specifically for use in the current system.

It is imperative that the equipment purchased be 100% backward compatible and easily integrated with the existing Teledyne hardware and software in place, to prevent data loss during critical at-sea operations.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely with the discretion of the Government.

The basis for award is fair and reasonable price. Period of performance is 30 days from contract award. Award will be on or about 29 June 2012.
